China to invest $120b in railways
China's Ministry of Railways will invest US$120.6 billion in railway fixed assets in 2010, according to Liu Zhijun, minister of railways, Dow Jones reported.
The ministry will invest just over US$102 million in railway construction this year, Liu said.
In terms of length, the country's railways will total more than 90,000 kilometers by end of 2010, according to the paper.
China invested $87.8 million in railway construction in 2009, up 79 percent from a year earlier.
